Built-In Connectivity
The Forensic Quest® features built-in support for SATA/IDE drives and includes USB connectivity.
1:2 hard drive Capture (optional)The Forensic Quest can capture from one source hard drive to two destination drives with an optional adapter
Create DD ImagesIn addition to a native capture, the Forensic Quest capturing system allows users to create DD images at various sizes; 650 MB, 2 GB & 4GB. These images are then immediately ready for archiving and analysis.
Erase OptionsCapable of performing a standard WipeClean and high-speed Security Erase (if drive model supports) of the destination drive. Will also perform a Department of Defense (DoD) specification data wiping.
AuthenticationThe Forensic Quest features a choice of either MD5 or SHA-256 authentication
Unidirectional Data TransferCopies only from the external data source to prevent inadvertent over-writing or corruption of a suspect’s drive. This ensures that the captured image will meet the requirements of law enforcement, corporate security, and cyber crime investigation and prosecution.
PortableMost compact single-target system on the market.
Optional Drive Adapters 2.5″, 1.8″ ZIF and CompactFlash drives can be connected with optional Logicube adapters.
Support for eSATA, mSATA and MicroSATA (optional)Support for eSATA, mSATA, MicroSATA hard drives is available with optional adapters.
Save Configuration SettingIncludes a Save Configuration Setting that allows the operator to save frequent used capture settings. Settings will be saved from last capture session.
Audit Trail ReportingGenerate and write to compact flash for review and printing
Native Write-ProtectSuspect drive will not be altered in any way.
High-Speed USB Drive Acquisition (optional)Optional support for USB 2.0 acquisition speeds (up to 1.5GB/min) of USB enclosures, USB thumb/flash drives. Requires the purchase of a software key code to activate software and either the SCSI or SAS adapter for USB plug-in.
HPA And DCO CaptureDetect and capture Host Protected Areas (HPA) and Device Configuration Overlay (DCO) hidden areas on the source (suspect) drive.
Support for SCSI and SAS Drives (optional)SCSI and SAS drive adapters support capture from SCSI or SAS hard drives
Touch Screen DisplayUses a touch screen with an easy-to-use interface to provide easy navigation
Extended Length Cables (optional)Ability to extend the standard distance between the drive and the host; up to 18″.
One-year Standard WarrantyThe system comes complete with a one year parts and labor warranty. Both an optional 1 year extended warranty ( total of 2 years) and a 2 year extended warranty (total of 3 years) are available.

Forensic PC/Laptop Cloning SoftwareThe Logicube Forensic PC/Laptop Cloning Software, included with your data capture solution, is compatible with the Forensic Talon, Talon Enhanced, Forensic Quest and Forensic Dossier. The software allows you to capture data and manage drives directly via the USB or FireWire (Firewire is only available on the Dossier) ports of a desktop/laptop PC.
The Forensic Cloning Software also provides the ability to capture from Apple MAC computers using a PC interface. This software allows you to perform a native (Mirror) capture, capture DD images, compute an MD5 Hash on the entire source or destination drive or on each individual DD image. Expected capture speeds are up to 1.4GB/min with verify and up to 1.8GB/min without verify. Speeds will vary depending on the USB and FireWire hardware and the processor speed of the PC. USB 1.x, 2.0 and FireWire 1394 are supported.
High-Speed USB Drive Acquisition Software Key Code (optional)Optional support for USB 2.0 acquisition speeds (up to 2GB/min) of USB enclosures, USB thumb/flash drives. Requires the purchase of a software key code to activate this feature on the Forensic Dossier, Talon Enhanced, Forensic Quest or SuperSonix and either the SCSI ( with the Forensic Quest, Talon Enhanced or Forensic Dossier) or SAS adapter (with the Forensic Dossier, Talon Enhanced, Forensic Quest and SuperSonix) for USB plug-in.
